Emerald City entertains a Texas Tradition at Rose Festival
There is something famous about the town of Tyler and for another year Emerald City Band carried on that famous Tradition celebrating the Tyler Roses at the annual Rose Queen’s Ball. Young and old danced the night away in tuxes and ball gowns at the Harvey Hall Convention Center as Emerald City performed hit after hit in this concert like atmosphere.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott even took in the sounds in the packed eastern asian themed room, and had time to take a picture with some of Emerald City’s Band Members.
Thanks again to Texas Rose Festival Queen’s Ball for allowing ECB to entertain at this spectacular event. Check out the video here!
The Texas Rose Festival, a three-day event held annually in Tyler, Texas, celebrates the role of the rose-growing industry in the local economy. The festivities, taking place during the third weekend of October, draw thousands of tourists to the city each year. The first Tyler Rose Festival was organized by Tyler Garden Club members, local rose growers and the Chamber of Commerce in October 1933 for the purpose of focusing attention on the importance of the rose industry to Tyler, and to showcase the towns elegance, it was renamed the Texas Rose Festival during the Texas Centennial in 1936.

Emerald City gets a Shout Out on The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show
A big THANK YOU for the shoutout from our friends at the Kidd Kraddick Show. Over the years i got to know and became friends with Kidd, Kelly Big Al and the rest. From the charity work we did together over the years to the Second chance proms, theres is no better team on the radio and were honored to call them our friends.
Any time someone is talking about weddings, Emerald City Band is sure to pop up in the conversation. Who knew it would happen during a live broadcast of KiddNation, The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show on KISS FM Dallas/Fort Worth. Our very own Taylor Phillips overheard them talking and called into the show. This clip is edited down from the 3 1/2 minute discussion.
Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5k at Toyota Stadium with Emerald City Band
Traveling all over the country and entertaining our fans from across the World is always an amazing experience and we love it, but getting to come back home and perform at Toyota Stadium for a great cause is hard to beat!
The Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5k Fundraiser was kind enough to have us at Toyota Stadium performing for all the runners bright and early raising money for a wonderful cause. We couldn’t believe how many people turned out on the beautiful Texas morning and we even got to hang with our old friends former Dallas Cowboy Linebacker Eugene Lockhart and Former NBA coach Dale Harris. Even after running a half marathon at 7am everybody ws still dancing and having a great time with the band, it was the perfect way to start show number 1 of 2 for us that day!
Emerald City has always been a huge advocate in helping our local community for 30+ years and we just want to say thank you to everybody involved in helping make the day such a great success. We hope to see you there next year running for a great cause.
STAY TUNED FOR SHOW #2 of our day in the next blog!

Back to Dallas for the SOLD OUT Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden show
After great gigs all over the country it is always good to get back to home base for ECB and do a public performance for all our fans in #Dallas #Texas. We land from Cobo and actually get to play an amazing private event at the House of Blues Dallas. We love the staff and how great everybody is there so its always a treat for us. After a great night everybody heads home for a good nights rest in preparation for our #SoldOut show the following day at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
We have been doing these shows for years and years but they just keep getting bigger and better each time and everybody is so very excited. As we walk into backstage you can’t miss the 3,000+ crowd inhabiting the Dallas Arboretum lawn for the “Cool Thursday Night Concert Series” and we can not wait to hit the stage! It’s great to see all the old fans that we have seen and got to know over the past 30 years, but there is also something really special to see the kids and grandkids up front dancing and singing with us as well. As always it was such a fun night for us and a night for the record books as well being the LARGEST in attendance for an event at the Dallas Arboretum.
After 30 years we are still here, dancing, performing and its truly an indescribable feeling to come home to Dallas, Texas and get to reminisce with you about all the memories of the shows before. Until next time be sure to check out our public dates on our website here and stay in touch. We love to see your smiles.
Orlando to Cobo, Emerald City Band is the best International party band on the planet.
If you haven’t had a chance to read our previous posts then let me get you up to speed. Emerald City Band has started 2016 traveling all over the USA, playing the most exclusive parties and weddings, and after taking over Disney Orlando we hear Cobo San Lucas, Mexico calling our name.
Keep in mind we have been on a continues stretch of shows flying from Dallas to Tulsa, to College Station, to Laredo, to Orlando, and now to Cobo. Trust us, it sounds great flying to sunny Mexico but its not always fun and games. We have airport security, and very early boarding times, and traffic to fight most of the time. So with the lengthy process of getting everybody through customs and finally on the plane we were all more than excited for the amazing opportunity of getting to perform there. as soon as the plane doors opened the whole cast and crew of Emerald City Band was #takingover #cabo #mexico .
After getting some rest and everybody refreshed we couldn’t wait to hit the stage and perform a non-stop energetic night of memories and bonds made that we know will last a lifetime. We are very lucky in the fact that we get to do what we love for a living and its all because of you guys.
It was hard waking up to the sound of the ocean and the sun-rising in such a beautiful place, but we have a plane to catch and another performance so stay tuned!
From Orlando to Houston for a double header during Final Four week
Coming from an amazing gig at Disney in Orlando all of our spirits and energy were through the roof, so getting off the plane in Houston for a 2-day double header in Houston,Tx we could not have been more ready, and to top it off it’s the NCAA FINAL FOUR!! Houston was a madhouse! We were getting to perform a corporate event and a wedding so we got the best of both worlds on this part of #EmeraldCityontheRoad2016Takeover tour.
With stage set at the Westin Houston ballroom we were eager to get on stage for the 4th night in a row and bring the Emerald City experience! We had a great evening and got to see some familiar faces in doing this event for many years in a row. We had a few surprise sit-ins during the set on bass and were held hostage on stage for THREE ENCORES! What. A. Night.
With another night in Houston and then onto Cabo San Lucas in the Horizon we battled the Final Four traffic back to the hotel for a late night dance rehearsal and practice session.
After a good nights rest and everybody refreshed we headed to the River Oaks Country Club where the stage was set for another magical wedding. With the stage set, the candles lit, and the band ready we started the night in pure elegance with the Bride and Groom never leaving the dance floor. It is hard to explain the feeling we get watching two people and all their loved ones celebrating such a beautiful day and we are always very thankful to be involved.
Houston’s two-day trip was such a great time with both nights, and in the spirit of the Final Four, but we had to get packed up and ready for the next show in Cabo San Lucas. You will not want to miss the details on Cabo, so check back soon!!!
Emerald City Band headed to Laredo
What is there not to love about warm south western United States weather and good company??? With our bags staying packed and Emerald City Band better than ever we boarded our next flight to the boarder town of Laredo, Tx. Even in Febuary it was 70 degrees and we were set to play a very breath taking private event at the Laredo Country Club. Even though we were only in town for a night and heading back to Ft.Worth the next day to perform a wedding we hydrated and so ready to start February off with a bang!
Entering the lovely Laredo Country Club gave us chills. The stage was magnificent, the decor superb, and energy in the room had us wanting to perform that very second. As everybody finished their five star dinner we were even joined by a guest Opra performance from one of the gentlemen who sat on the board of the event in a true Laredo style welcoming for the party that was about to start…
There were Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, Grandmas and Grandpas on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG singing every word and dancing as if choreographed for this one amazing night! Laredo we put our hands together and salute you for the smiles, dance moves, and great memories etched into our brains here at Emerald City Band. We hope to see you soon and Thanks so much for making memories with us.
Emerald City Band #ROADLIFE2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
As a band that has stood the test of time for over 30 years we have the privlidge of repeating events for year after year and making friendships that have lasted a lifetime so every year when we see the eloquent Tahlequah private event pop up on the performance calendar EVERYBODY in the band can not help but to get excited. With a new face in the band, we sat down with our new singer Kevin to ask him about his first road trip with Emerald City.
” I stayed up all night and made sure my bag was packed perfect and I had my boarding passes for my flight ready to go”, Kevin told us in excitement.
“Ive been a well established musician for awhile now, but only with Emerald City have I been able to look forward to flying out to the biggest and best private events across the USA and Internationally.”
With Kevin and the rest of the EC Band all packed up they hit the air to the native stage of Oklahoma. As soon as they landed everybody was so excited to get to the venue and reminisce with the friends made in years past. The room was set and decorated beautifully and as the night unfolded there was one thing for certain, EVERYBODY could not wait for Deno and the gang to hit the stage and party all night! With Familiar faces and new ones on the dance floor all night we can’t help but to count down the days until next year in Tahlequah.
Thanks so much for having us all these years and sharing some of the best memories with everybody in attendance. We can’t wait to see you soon.
Rock the 16 New Years Eve SOLD OUT SHOW
What an incredible evening of dancing, food and entertainment as Emerald City rocked in the New Year with a huge dance party for over 2000 people in a packed InterContinental Dallas Ballroom. People from 17 states as well as Celebrities and Politicians from Texas spent the night partying with Emerald City in what has become an annual Vegas styled event that grows bigger every year.
A VIP meet and greet with the band started off the festivities followed by a 4-star 3 course dinner, with live entertainment. At 9:45pm Scott Murray came on stage to introduce the band as the dance floor filled to capacity. The anticipation built as the lights dimmed and the music started. Flashes of light. Then, Bang! The curtain dropped revealing an all out visual stimulation as Emerald City backlit with a huge video wall started to show. As the music built, cryo blasts and laser lights filled the ballroom. The Emerald City Experience was in full swing with nonstop music and dancing until 1am.
“I have honestly never seen anything like this before, I was not expecting a full Rock Concert feel and music from the last 3 decades, we never left the dance floor” – Stan McCullin from Chicago, IL.
This was the 7th Year Emerald City has put on this annual party. Some of the guest have been coming to this event since it was started, and have built their own groups over the years to include more that 20 people that make this an annual gathering to bring in the New Year.
“It started out the first year, my husband and I had been following Deno and Emerald City for years, once we saw how great this event was, each year we’ve invited more and more of our friends. We now get 2 VIP tables filled with family and friends.”
