Emerald City entertains a Texas Tradition at Rose Festival
There is something famous about the town of Tyler and for another year Emerald City Band carried on that famous Tradition celebrating the Tyler Roses at the annual Rose Queen’s Ball. Young and old danced the night away in tuxes and ball gowns at the Harvey Hall Convention Center as Emerald City performed hit after hit in this concert like atmosphere.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott even took in the sounds in the packed eastern asian themed room, and had time to take a picture with some of Emerald City’s Band Members.
Thanks again to Texas Rose Festival Queen’s Ball for allowing ECB to entertain at this spectacular event. Check out the video here!
The Texas Rose Festival, a three-day event held annually in Tyler, Texas, celebrates the role of the rose-growing industry in the local economy. The festivities, taking place during the third weekend of October, draw thousands of tourists to the city each year. The first Tyler Rose Festival was organized by Tyler Garden Club members, local rose growers and the Chamber of Commerce in October 1933 for the purpose of focusing attention on the importance of the rose industry to Tyler, and to showcase the towns elegance, it was renamed the Texas Rose Festival during the Texas Centennial in 1936.

A big THANK YOU for the shoutout from our friends at the Kidd Kraddick Show. Over the years i got to know and became friends with Kidd, Kelly Big Al and the rest. From the charity work we did together over the years to the Second chance proms, theres is no better team on the radio and were honored to call them our friends.
Any time someone is talking about weddings, Emerald City Band is sure to pop up in the conversation. Who knew it would happen during a live broadcast of KiddNation, The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show on KISS FM Dallas/Fort Worth. Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5k at Toyota Stadium with Emerald City Band
Traveling all over the country and entertaining our fans from across the World is always an amazing experience and we love it, but getting to come back home and perform at Toyota Stadium for a great cause is hard to beat!
The Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5k Fundraiser was kind enough to have us at Toyota Stadium performing for all the runners bright and early raising money for a wonderful cause. We couldn’t believe how many people turned out on the beautiful Texas morning and we even got to hang with our old friends former Dallas Cowboy Linebacker Eugene Lockhart and Former NBA coach Dale Harris. Even after running a half marathon at 7am everybody ws still dancing and having a great time with the band, it was the perfect way to start show number 1 of 2 for us that day!
Emerald City has always been a huge advocate in helping our local community for 30+ years and we just want to say thank you to everybody involved in helping make the day such a great success. We hope to see you there next year running for a great cause.
STAY TUNED FOR SHOW #2 of our day in the next blog!

Back to Dallas for the SOLD OUT Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden show
After great gigs all over the country it is always good to get back to home base for ECB and do a public performance for all our fans in #Dallas #Texas. We land from Cobo and actually get to play an amazing private event at the House of Blues Dallas. We love the staff and how great everybody is there so its always a treat for us. After a great night everybody heads home for a good nights rest in preparation for our #SoldOut show the following day at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
We have been doing these shows for years and years but they just keep getting bigger and better each time and everybody is so very excited. As we walk into backstage you can’t miss the 3,000+ crowd inhabiting the Dallas Arboretum lawn for the “Cool Thursday Night Concert Series” and we can not wait to hit the stage! It’s great to see all the old fans that we have seen and got to know over the past 30 years, but there is also something really special to see the kids and grandkids up front dancing and singing with us as well. As always it was such a fun night for us and a night for the record books as well being the LARGEST in attendance for an event at the Dallas Arboretum.
After 30 years we are still here, dancing, performing and its truly an indescribable feeling to come home to Dallas, Texas and get to reminisce with you about all the memories of the shows before. Until next time be sure to check out our public dates on our website here and stay in touch. We love to see your smiles.
